About Elaine Chong

As both a jewelry designer and painter, Chong has long been captivated by the dynamic relationship between fine art and craft. Chong’s work seeks to explore how these two mediums—often perceived as distinct—can be woven together to challenge traditional boundaries and create new forms of artistic expression. Elaine’s concept is to further investigate how jewelry and painting, as intertwined modes of artistic practice, can simultaneously reflect and shape our emotional and cultural landscapes.

Chong lives in Summit, New Jersey. She holds a M.F.A. from Montclair State University and has been included in numerous residencies and retreats; some of which include, Cooper Union School of Art, Geraldine R. Dodge, The Printmaking Center of NJ and Haystack Mountain School of Craft. Her work has been exhibited Nationally.
